As famed New Orleans, Jazz musician Ellis Marsalis once said, "In New Orleans, culture doesn't come down from on high, it bubbles up from the streets." This is perfectly encapsulated by our Easter House Painting.
This painting resembles a Sunday morning stroll through the French Quarter.
The paint wash on the textured paper gives the houses vibrancy, drawing your eyes immediately down the sidewalk the gentleman is strolling down. The different hues of yellows and pink corals accentuate the history of these old New Orleans French Quarter homes. The dark shutters are closed, likely trying to block out the bright morning sunlight that you can see through on the piece.
This piece highlights the classic New Orleans eclectic culture and would look great in a room that gets a lot of natural sunlight.
Paper was mounted to a textured paper background on a 2" deep cradled wood artist panel. Then enhanced with Acrylic paint, CrasPas, and Oil Pastel.
