"Ming Dragon Pair"
No. 1 (Left) and No. 2 (Right)
Two chinoiserie-inspired vases depicting ming dragon motifs that sit facing each other. The classic blue and white used are reminiscent of the traditional chinoiserie vase from the 60s. The use of neon pink and orange allow for a fresh revitalization of these beautiful pieces. Both are complemented with white abstract flowers. Created using layers of brilliant white, these flowers are elegant and simple.
This painting is a modern take on all the blue and white porcelain vases that filled American homes in the '70s. From Artist Susan Havens-Morris's newest series she calls "LIFE," rich moments of her growing up in the '60s and '70s. The work is vibrant with varied textures and exuberant colors, an aesthetic she developed over a lifetime surrounded by influential art.
