This painting is a modern take on all the blue and white porcelain vases that filled American homes in the '70s. From Artist Susan Havens-Morris's newest series she calls "LIFE," rich moments of her growing up in the '60s and '70s. The work is vibrant with varied textures and exuberant colors, an aesthetic she developed over a lifetime surrounded by influential art.
It depicts both a Chinoise motif of bok choy plants and pink flowers vases overflowing. Bright florescent paint on the bottom retains the glamour of Chinoiserie but feels thoroughly modern.
