This piece features an animatronic horse in front of a store window that has classic painting displayed on its shelves.
In conjunction with the first piece "Pony for my Birthday", this is the second later-in-life realization. My longing to own my own pony has started to fade. The desire I originally wanted is not as strong, therefore not as realistic as depicted in the horse. The Horse has begun to loose color and chip. All together the horse has become fuzzy in my vision. However, my unrecognized dreams are just beyond the window of my horse. At this point in my life, I'm starting to find new interests like attending art school and making my own art. The art behind the window is made by some of the greatest painters we know, Picasso, Warhol, and O'Keefe, and I've started seeing them in Chicago at the Art Institute, so they are inherently in the back of my mind now. They are finer and clearer in detail than the horse, meaning I'm focusing more on the art that my love of horses.
In the next 5 years, I'm attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to complete a bachelor's in Fine Art.
