The darkness of the Pequod is illustrated above the deep ocean water as the harpoon races down. Moby Dick dives deeper, evading the harpoons from the ship. 

The white whale is carved out of the wood that is the blue ocean. The harpoon is engraved into the wood as well. The Pequod is cut from super-thin wood; each piece is applied to the surface, rubbed in a black ink wash. Framed in 100+ year-old wood lath. All handcrafted from wood, each piece is created just for you. 

The focal point of this unique collection is the white whale and is one of the four pieces in our new White Whale Art Collection all, from Herman Melville's Moby Dick or the Whale, a classic piece of American literature. These are a visual representation of the chase throughout the novel. All feature Moby Dick as the main image, some feature the ship, the Pequod, the deepwater of the oceans they sail in search of the whale.

This is our modern twist on a Barn Star, often seen on older barns in the Pennsylvania area. However, there is a long history of them in the Richmond, Virginia area, pre-civil war, on large buildings and factories.
