Inspired by the desire to represent wildlife "in the wild," our series touches on many types of beloved and sometimes endangered animals that we don't see regularly in our daily lives. Through these series, we hope you can add some wildness to your homes and appreciate the impressionist beauty they offer. The Water Birds is another part of our newest collection, "In The Wild," which includes Swans, Canadian Geese, and Mallard Ducks.Â
We make all aspects of this Swan art by hand. We start with a drawing of the carving detailing the shape of the wood background. We then paint the background and solid swans by hand with acrylic water-based paint. Once dry, we rub our desired accent colors into the lines to make each Swan pop against its background. Last, we build up multiple layers of paint to recreate the water surrounding the swans in their natural water habitat. Once complete, we hand-build a rustic reclaimed wood frame and attach it to the background. Each framed painting includes picture wire on the back for quick and easy hanging on any wall.Â
