The white whale is carved out of the wood that is the blue ocean. The harpoon is engraved into the wood as well. The Pequod is cut from super-thin wood; each piece is applied to the surface, rubbed in a black ink wash. Framed in 100+ year-old wood lath. All handcrafted from wood, each piece is created just for you.

This piece features a quote from The Pacific Chapter of Herman Melville's Moby Dick. This is the opening chapter of the book with the famous line "Call me Ishmael" a heavy opening setting the tone for the rest of the book.
