Shug... short for the word sugar. A term of endearment for Southern.

My Grandmother was called sugar from the time I was little by all us kids. I think the whole town come to think about it called her sugar. But even after we have moved back to the South here we find it is an everyday common term that people use when referring to children. We especially noticed how at the time, our 14-year-old daughter is being called Shug in restaurants, by teachers in school, and even her friends. It is a lovely and charming expression. My father of 75 just said the other day as he was getting off the phone "Talk to you later Shug". When someone calls you shug it means they love you and in the South, I think everyone truly means it. So if you don't have a shug in your life start a wonderful new tradition in your family!

In the South, BBQ Pork is king. This is a sign that might have been hanging out front of a BBQ establishment from Dallas to Richmond. The sign is in the shape of a grazing pink piggy. On his back, the words PIT COOKED BAR-B-QUE are lettered on him. He has a very rustic, worn, distressed finish.

Since returning to the south, I have been reminded of just how much a guy loves his truck. I have always had a passion for the vintage ones, from the '30s through the '50s, heck, I would even take one up to the '70s. I pause or drive real slow by the ones I know, trying to take in every detail. This is my tribute to all those vintage old pick-up trucks in my heart. Perfect for the Good ole' Boy in your life!
