This painting features an animatronic horse commonly found outside of a grocery store in the 60s.

As child, all I wanted was a pony for my birthday. Every birthday for several years I wanted my very own pony. As a child I have no idea about taking care of a living animal or the other responsibilities needed to maintain a horse, but as a child you don't care about that. However, the closest I could get to having a horse was asking my mom for a quarter and riding the horse at the store while she checked-out with the cashier.  I imagined riding my pony through green fields and jumping white picket fences. The wind in my hair, just galloping in freedom with my horse.

This painting is about the longing for something, and accepting the next best thing to achieve that dream until you get there.  Finally after 8 years, my dad bought me riding lessons out in the suburbs of Chicago. I continued to horse back-ride well into my 30's.

This painting features a pool, a water float shaped like a flamingo, and various garden chairs.

The concept of this painting is about the joy of summer at any age. When you are a child the summer is warm and you can feel free from school and responsibilities. Everything looks bright and happy; the lawn is greener, the water is bluer, and the air smells sweet. When you are an adult it spending hard earned time with your family. It means fresh air, outdoor grills, and warm evenings. During summer everyone feels more connected with themselves. Anyone can view this painting and be transported to their favorite summertime moment, even if it wasn't at the pool.

"Chaise Lounge"

A fun painting of a retro chaise lounge made for the outdoors in classic white and green banding. This lounge was great for folding up and carrying with you on the go! This piece has a neon stripe of florescent orange at the top to add a great pop of color to the green piece. This painting also features a side table with a glass of lemonade and a child's kiddy pool.

The "Pier at the Lake House" painting is a classic childhood memory for Susan. Going to the the lake in Minnesota as a kid was the yearly family vacation she always looked forward to. The water was cold all the time and sun was always out. The Lake was a natural body of water, so the water always has slight green tint, bur regardless all the children would jump in with their summer suits and floats. I always had the slight hesitation to jump in due to my swimming abilities, but still went in.

This painting is a modern take on all the blue and white porcelain vases that filled American homes in the '70s. From Artist Susan Havens-Morris's newest series she calls "LIFE," rich moments of her growing up in the '60s and '70s. The work is vibrant with varied textures and exuberant colors, an aesthetic she developed over a lifetime surrounded by influential art.

It depicts a Chinoise fish motif flower vase overflowing with white daisies. Bright florescent paint on the bottom retains the glamour of Chinoiserie but feels thoroughly current.

"Tennis Court"

This original painting is currently on display at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. This art exhibition runs through January 2023. The painting is owned by a private collector and is gracious on loan for this exhibition.

Susan was honored as one of the 2022 Louisiana Contemporary Artist select by Museum in August. Read more here about this exhibition.

The painting features three girls having completed their tennis matches. The middle girl has won a trophy.

One after school activity I was in for many years was tennis. In my childhood, tennis camps like these would have a program at the end of the season to have all the kids compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and receive small shelf trophies. In this painting I wanted to highlight the importance of the trophy as a kid, it felt bigger and more rewarding. I wanted all the imagery to be fuzzy like remembering a memory because thats all I can do it remember the last time I remembered.

This piece is entitled "Grand Central" reminiscent of the iconic train station with is fast pace setting. Here we see the highlighted figures in white moving about the darkness leaving what appears to be a trail of mist behind them. The Effect is meant to feel as if it's a photograph that has been over exposed as people move through it.

The tenth piece in our Antoinette Series is large portrait painting of the french queen. Her entire face is made from multiple layers of paint built up. There is so much texture coming together to create her pink complexion.

Her forehead is brushed with a symbolic cross of the catholic symbol and french monarchy. The wig is highlighted with pale pink and bright maroon to add more contract from her dark background.

All of her features are exaggerated voluminous curly hair with bold eyes and plump lips. Her demeanor is present with a light smile, she’s not watching you but merely looking over you.

Would be absolutely stunning in a solid black frame over the fireplace or greeting visitors in your entryway.

Crimson Red light Illuminates half of her pale white face. Her cheek is powdered in the deepest blush and her eyes look off in the furthest distance.

Our fourth installment in the "Standings Collection" depicts a gathering of people "Crowd". The shadows move around them and the present time we can see is both coming and going all at once. 

There is a sharp contrast between the individuals from their dark backgrounds. Draped in layers of amber, cream, and gray.

She is highly decorated in wigs, make-up and clothing but there is a tremendous amount of discontentment in her face. She is beautiful and elegant but her face does not reflect her appearance.
