Our painting is the most unrealistic reflection of physical appearance and feels distorted and yet it is the most captivating view of her essence. She is featured as a very gaunt version of herself, dark and distant.

The second painting in the garden series beautifully integrates the timeless elements of a classic New Orleans garden. This painting introduces an abstract representation of water, symbolizing a serene pool that cradles a delicate magnolia flower, evoking a sense of tranquility and grace. This painting entitled Son of Navarre is a part of the Calm series. A series of portraits covering swimmers and beachgoers of various ages. The Calm Series is inspired by the tranquil serenity while visiting the beach Susan escaped to while evacuating from Hurricane Ida.

The landscape is a calm water view with clear blue skies. Our artist Susan Havens-Morris takes the vision of the beach as a nice place to think. The blowing wind and crashing waves are often a white noise allowing one to connect oneness with nature that we often overlook.

This piece is a part of the Calm series. A series of portraits covering swimmers of various ages. The series derives from our Artist Susan Havens-Morris's evacuation to Fort Walton Beach Florida, during the 2021 Hurricane Ida Storm in New Orleans. these pieces are inspired by her daily walks along the beach and seeing various beachgoers. 

This piece is entitled, Miramar Rosa. Her completion is that of a young woman in her 20s. She has little facial imperfections and stands off to the side in a by-standard pose. She is watching the activity on the beach in an observant manner waiting for something.

This is the first in the series from artist Susan Havens-Morris of what will be five portraits of the same woman dating from the 1850s-1920s. Susan searched for a subject to explore time with. She paints from impressions of the image, not concerned with representing the features and details of the actual subject. Working with color to help define the ages of the women. 

Jeni is youthful and bright life's troubles are slowly emerging but not present yet, as pictured by her blue, hopeful eyes are she is looking off in the distance, no concerns present in her face. Her crown of flowers is small, but full of life, with soft wisps of green and deep pink.

This fine art figural wood assemblage is one of three in the series titled Population. Fifty-four wooden figures were carved for this unique assemblage. Each figure floats on two pins above a white textured background. The wood used for the figures has been left natural, and the brown color is a result of its 100+ years of aging of the wood. Each figure has been made from reclaimed wood from old New Orleans buildings. Each figure in this piece has been dipped in white at different levels on the body. The background is a canvas mounted to a wooden gallery box. Each is finished with a simple white contemporary floating box frame.

This is the second installment in the Evolution Series. Her name is Julia, and the subject is in her late teens. Our Artist captures the moody teen years through a drastic change in color. There is navy being introduced in the background, yet a fuller crown has grown. This signals the beginning of realization in her life, a teen's bliss full ignorance begins to escape her. Notice even the flowers have become thicker and more volume.
