"You're gonna need a bigger boat!", one of my favorite lines from my favorite movie, JAWS. While in the movie it was a Great White Shark, I personally loved the Mako shark art for this assemblage. The inspiration behind this white whale art is just how big the whale had become to Captain Ahab in his mind. The eye of the white whale is made up of a silhouette of the captain walking up the huge white whale. Harpoon in his hand, he is going to get Moby Dick. 

The large white whale takes up most of the foreground, and the background is the black water he is swimming up from. Engraved cross-hatching surrounds the whale image, and blue paint is rubbed into the ground. The natural texture and grain from the wood show through the skin of the whale, emulating his years at sea.

Each piece is handcrafted from wood and hand-painted. For the finishing touch, we have added a unique reclaimed wooden lath frame. They are true works of art, and each is uniquely created for you.

The focal point of these unique pieces is the white whale, which is one of the four pieces in our new collection, all from Herman Melville's Moby Dick or the Whale, a classic piece of American literature. These are a visual representation of the chase throughout the novel.
