This is the most fantastic piece for your beach house, porch or to bring that beach feel home. The great white whale portrayed in Herman Melville's classic novel "The White Whale" was fictitious. But remarkably, it was based on a real animal. A huge albino sperm whale with a violent streak which had fascinated whalers and the reading public for decades before Melville published his masterpiece. The whale,"Mocha" was named for the island of Mocha, in the Pacific off the coast of Chile.

Our large wooden whale is all hand finished. He is so sculptural at this size.
Shown here in our Oyster White paint finished in a whitewash if you will, the hand-distressed wood amplifies his surface texture.
We will always cut him with the grain running horizontally as if he has been in the ocean for decades, making for the best wooden whale wall art.
